I am inherently tied to these mountains. A bloodline of sun weathered farmers, shiners, and granny witches echo throughout these ancient hills and within my veins. I am proud of my mountain culture and listened intently to those little ladies who showed me the magic within plants and how to prepare them while telling stories of their childhood. I watched and helped as the sun weathered men split logs, tied flies, and turned corn into a clear mountain wine. I am from a rough and tumble type of folk who weathered out a living in these beautiful but unforgiving hills and hollers where their music, faith in each other, and the divine allowed them to thrive.
The Folk are pleased to carry on these Appalachian traditions in a pure and simple fashion. Feel free to order online, but we really encourage you to stop by and say hello in person. We are old school, and believe in a simpler way of life. Sit by the fire, have a cup of tea, shop for a bit, take a yoga class, swap a few stories with us. We’re pretty sure that when you leave, you’ll have a smile on your face and a spring in your step, and probably a strange craving for some soup beans and fried taters.
