Blood Mountain Cabins are rustic, no-frills cabins located high in the Appalachian Mountains of North Georgia–Ideal for outdoor enthusiasts and those looking for a way to get back to simpler times! And if you need more space or different amenities, we also offer private homes to rent within a 10 mile radius of our location.

The most unique thing about our location is our proximity to the world famous Appalachian Trail and the surrounding wilderness area of the Chattahoochee National Forest. We are sandwiched between and bordered by the Blood Mountain Wilderness Area and the Raven Cliffs Wilderness Area.

​Some of our cabins are only a one hundred yard footpath from the Appalachian Trail, which extends over 2000 miles from Georgia to Maine, over the highest peaks of the Appalachian Mountains. A 2½ mile walk on the Appalachian Trail will take you to the top of Blood Mountain, the highest point on the trail in Georgia, and one of the most scenic sites in Georgia.

Our elevation is over 3000 feet above sea level, by far the highest in the state. The advantages of the high elevation are:

• Beautiful snows in the winter
• Cooler summer temperatures
• Views from the cabins are looking down into the valley rather than looking up at the mountains.

We rarely see a temperature as high as 80°, even when the valleys below are in the mid-90’s.
